I have liked Jeff Daniels for a long time. I enjoyed his work in "Speed," The Purple Rose of Cairo," "Gettysburg," " Gods and Generals" among others. His latest work, "The Newsroom" is taking HBO by storm, well worth watching. I knew he was a musician, but I didn't realize how much of one. He writes his own stuff, he doesn't write hits, he writes songs. And songs that have meaning. I suggest you hit iTunes and check out his work, especially "Kathy" and "If You're Comin'" from the Live and Unplugged CD. The former is one of the best love songs I've heard, and the latter is a call to think. The man writes to tell his stories, of what was and what is important through his life. I can relate. I have a book of poetry - that, for the most part sucks, but makes me wonder what lights music might turn on. The older I get the more creative I want to be. Maybe before its too late.
